School starts today!

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Lao Tse

School starts today for me and it has been my continuous journey of personal growth. I especially want to thank my husband for his support & love and my family for their encouragement as well as their love.

I honestly don't know think I would have been able to make it to this point without their encouragement.

You all mean very much to me especially today.

I have vlogged in YouTube under my name as DBadvocate and it's a full 10 minutes. You can see the nervousness trepidation and excitement on my face.

Yes, even my laptop is distorted because I show the furkids on the webcam. All because I am excited, nervous and happy.. all in one!

I am FINALLY going to college and it is G.B.C!! This proves you are never too old to go back to school!

Classes don't start until 10 am but shit, I'm leaving in half-hour to see several people and drop off several forms. I know I will be tired tonight as my last class finishes at 8 pm. I'll be home around 9:30 -10 pm the latest.

I do live quite a bit of a distance from GBC so it's not too bad for me as I do read on the TTC. I take the streetcar as it's much more quieter for me.

Well, I better shut up now as I have those all too familiar excited feelings in my stomach. I can't eat, had soft poop all night and the same god-damn feelings I had all my life - the day before Labour Day feelings, ALL came back to me yesterday!

I swear to you, I thought I was finished with those when I graduated from H.S but nope, it came back with a vengeance!

Alrighty, I'm going to put my socks and shoes on like I normally do everyday and going to head off for the streetcar. [Cosburn then King]

I love you all and I do miss you all very much.
Love,

Christmas crafts

Hugs all,

I have started on Christmas crafts already.

Yes! You read it right!

CHRISTMAS!

Click on the link to go to a great website for easy Christmas crafts with cheap stuff, think Dollarama! Yes, my favourite place!

This year, I am starting much earlier because I want to personally make each gift I give out to my family. Yes, you all, individually, receive handmade with love by me, a gift.

I already made several and they're tucked away. They took me quite a while to do it but I felt very happy with the effort I put in them.

College starts tomorrow and I am already thinking BIG!

ALIP is 15 months and I learned at Orientation that Ryerson recognises the ALIP credits so I can go to Ryerson for two years to get my B.A.

I would like to get my B.A in Disability Studies. Being an advocate, I strongly believe I will do best in the field of Disability Studies. Ryerson offers this program to critically analyse the morals and values of society towards the disabled people.

After Ryerson, I would like to get my Ph.D in Critical Disability Studies at York University.  York offers much more than Ryerson as it is a much more intense study about the disabled community. The socio-economic, socio-psychological and social aspects of being disabled, per se, in society.

How being "disabled" by itself, the quote affects so many people, the label itself affects the human psyche.

This is where I know I will get a lot of personal satisfaction learning more and more.

I look forward seeing you all as I miss you all very much. I do miss tactiling and chatting with you all one to one. Catching up on the news too as well.

Please do keep in touch, much love from me to you all.
